Volume 1, Issue 2 (August 2026) of the Iraqi Journal of Microbiology and Biomedical Science (IJMBS) presents four peer-reviewed original research articles contributed by researchers from various Iraqi academic and research institutions.

The articles featured in this issue address a diverse range of contemporary topics in microbiology and biomedical sciences, including antimicrobial resistance and carbapenemase genes, biofilm-forming bacteria and their clinical significance in diabetic patients, immunological biomarkers associated with inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, cytokine-mediated inflammation in severe bacterial pneumonia, and the computational analysis of environmental pollutants and their effects on antioxidant enzymes.

Collectively, these studies reflect the growing scope of microbiological, immunological, clinical, and computational research in Iraq, highlighting the importance of understanding microbial resistance, bacterial pathogenicity, immune dysregulation, inflammatory responses, and environmental influences on human health.

This issue represents another important step in the development of the Iraqi Journal of Microbiology and Biomedical Science (IJMBS) as a platform for disseminating high-quality scientific research and promoting collaboration among researchers in microbiology, biomedical sciences, and related disciplines.
