Submission Preparation Checklist
Authors submitting manuscripts to the (IJMBS) are required to upload the following files separately. All files must be submitted in the specified formats and should not be compressed.
1. Title Page File
This file should include all author-identifying information, including:

Manuscript type, full title, and short running title.

Full names of all authors, academic degrees, designations, and institutional affiliations.

ORCID ID for each author
-
Statements on patient consent (where applicable), funding sources, acknowledgments, conflicts of interest, and prior or related submissions.

Clinical trial registration details, if applicable.
-
Full contact details of the corresponding author.
Accepted formats: DOC, DOCX, RTF
Compressed files are not permitted.
Authors are strongly encouraged to prepare their Title page file using the official IJMBS templates available in the Templates section of the journal website.
2. Blinded Article File
This file must not contain any information that identifies the authors or their institutions.

Pages must be numbered consecutively.

Author names, affiliations, and acknowledgments must be removed.
Accepted format: Microsoft Word
Compressed files are not permitted.
Authors are strongly encouraged to prepare their manuscript files using the official IJMBS templates available in the Templates section of the journal website.
3. Cover Letter File
A signed cover letter confirming authors’ approval, authorship eligibility, and the originality of the work must be uploaded as a PDF file.

The data collected from registered and non-registered users of the Iraqi Journal of Microbiology and Biomedical Science (IJMBS) falls within the scope of the standard functioning of peer-reviewed journals. It includes information that makes communication possible for the editorial process; it is used to inform readers about the authorship and editing of content; and it enables collecting aggregated data on readship behaviors.

When users register with IJMBS or submit a manuscript, we collect personal information including, but not limited to:

2. Use of Personal Data
The editorial team of IJMBS uses this data exclusively for the following purposes:

Editorial Workflow: To process, review, and publish submitted manuscripts.

Communication: To contact authors, reviewers, and editors regarding journal business.

Dissemination: To include author names and affiliations in published articles and metadata provided to indexing services (e.g., Scopus, DOAJ).

Improvement: To track internal statistics to improve the journal’s reach and performance.
3. Data Protection and Sharing

Confidentiality: The Iraqi Society for Microbiology and the IJMBS editorial office will not sell, lease, or distribute personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

Peer Review: Names and affiliations of authors are not shared with reviewers For "Double-Blind" processes, these are kept confidential until publication.

Indexing: Upon publication, specific metadata (author name, affiliation, and email) is shared with global indexing databases to ensure the reach and impact of the research.
4. User Rights
Users of the IJMBS platform have the right to:

Access and Edit: Update their personal profile information at any time via their account settings.

Withdrawal: Request the removal of their account from the journal database (except where data must be retained as part of the permanent scientific record of a published article).
5. Integrity and Ethics
IJMBS adheres to the ethical guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). We ensure that all personal data is handled with the highest level of integrity to protect the privacy of our global community of researchers.
